Did you buy a new car recently? I was driving a 2019 Toyota Rav4. One of the features is an option for “Eco Mode”. What’s Eco Mode? There are more and more vehicles coming out with this option. Eco mode works by limiting some comfort and convenience features on the car including the heating and air conditioning, cruise control, and heated seats. This system may also affect the transmission and engine performance. This allows for more fuel efficient use of the engine. Another new feature to save fuel on several new cars is an auto shut off. With this feature the engine will shut off after a period of time when the vehicle is at a complete stop. As soon as the brake is released, the engine will restart in order to allow the driver to begin driving. This can improve fuel economy by not allowing the engine to burn fuel while idling. All these new features also need to be taken into consideration when we repair your vehicle.
