Who Owns My Car?

We recently had a customer who brought their car in for a repair. They said the last time their car was damaged the insurance company made them go to another shop. Our customer proceeded to complain about the experience, poor quality, and bad parts used. This customer was under the impression that because the insurance company told them to go there that they had to. Fortunately we still live in a free country. Under MN law consumers have the choice to go to the shop they choose. Customers also have choice to use the parts they want. If you’re ever involved in an accident and the insurance company tells you to go to a particular shop just know it is your choice.
