Here’s what every driver should know:

1) You have the legal right to choose your collision repair shop.

2) Once you’ve told your insurer your choice, they cannot try to influence you to go elsewhere.

3) Scare tactics such as "That shop isn’t on our list" or "Repairs will be delayed" or "we won't warranty the work" are misleading.

4) The shop you select is responsible for the quality and warranty of repairs. NOT your insurance company.
