EPA Shop Tour- 06/20/2007
Latuff Brothers was chosen by the Environmental Protection Agency as a tour location during their national small business conference held in St Paul, Minnesota. Latuff Brothers was chosen to host the tour because of our commitment to environmental conservation and our pioneering the use of water-borne paints.
Water-borne paints are environmentally friendly finishes that are mixed with distilled water rather than chemical solvents. Latuff Brothers was the first repair facility in the Midwest to use water-borne paints. Prior to Latuff Brothers, the only area in the country that utilized water-borne paints were a few select repair facilities on the East coast. Latuff Brothers is ahead of the curve in technology and environmental conservation as the use of water-borne paint is not even prevalent in the most environmentally conscious states, such as California.
Through the use of water-borne environmentally friendly paints Latuff Brothers has realized a 58% reduction in emissions, while maintaining a high quality, durable finish that can be guaranteed for life.
Feedback received from the tour was very positive. EPA and state representatives expressed excitement about encouraging repair facilities in their home states to explore the use of environmentally friendly paints to reduce their impact on the environment.
